Children’s Diabetes Support Program

Saving lives and bringing hope to children living with Type 1 Diabetes.

About the Children’s Diabetes Program

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is a life-threatening condition that requires daily monitoring, insulin access, and consistent education. In Sierra Leone, many families simply cannot afford insulin or glucose supplies — and without support, children face critical health risks.

Touch of Grace, Inc. created the Children’s Diabetes Support Program to ensure that children living with T1D receive:

  • Life-saving insulin

  • Blood glucose monitoring tools

  • Diabetic emergency supplies

  • Ongoing health education

  • Family counseling and support

  • Regular follow-up and community visits

Our mission is simple: No child should suffer or lose their life because they lack access to diabetes care.

Our Founder’s Journey: From a Family Crisis to a Mission of Hope

Three years ago, our Founder & CEO, Mrs. Alimatu Sangari-Sammarie, faced one of the most difficult moments of her life when her 11-year-old son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after recovering from COVID-19. Overnight, her family entered a world of fear, sleepless nights, and overwhelming uncertainty.

But through this painful journey, God revealed a new purpose.

From her family’s experience, the Children’s Diabetes Program was born — a mission dedicated to bringing hope, care, and life-saving resources to children living with T1D in Sierra Leone and beyond.

This year, our team will travel to Sierra Leone to meet children who desperately need insulin, monitoring tools, and diabetes education. Many are fighting a battle they cannot win without support.

Your gift can transform fear into hope.
